Here at Butcher Board, we can’t stress quite enough the importance of keeping our ingredients local whenever possible. That’s why we partner with the many resident farmers in our area, who provide us with produce and meat that satisfies our very high standards to feed our hungry diners.
You can’t beat the freshness and health benefits that accompany from-scratch sourcing, and we are proud of the support we provide community farmers in the process. Boosting business for these farmers bolsters the local economy and helps sustain them by providing consistent, year-round business outside of appearances at farmers markets and farm stands.
Food “the way nature intended” is our mantra. Working with local farmers to provide the very best ingredients at an affordable price for our sandwiches, salads, and tacos will always be our focus. Why? Because great quality ingredients make great food, great food makes you happy, and your happiness and wellbeing are our chief priorities.
Gone are the days when the restaurateur has no personal relationship with the growers and producers of his kitchen supply. In fact, the unification of chefs and farmers is counted among the most positive benefits of the farm-to-table movement. The ongoing dialogue between restaurants and local farmers builds a food-based support system where we can all help each other out in a self-reinforcing feedback loop of health and prosperity right here in our own backyards.
Keeping our finger to the pulse of the local farming community isn’t an option for us; it’s mandatory. We need farmers to keep us alive (literally), and working with farmers who are so local they may even join us for dinner allows us to give back a little to our neighboring communities.
